Glasgow is set to host a Circular Economy Hotspot 2018, taking place from 30 October- 1 November.

The event is expected to attract around 300 of the world’s leading decision-makers, trade representatives, investors and circular economy entrepreneurs.

It will be a unique and vital networking opportunity as the event comes with global recognition.

Event organisers hope further connections will be made between Scotland and Europe within this area of the economy.

Roseanna Cunningham, cabinet secretary for the environment, climate change and land reform, said: “It’s an occasion to recognise success, and share knowledge with the best and brightest from across the globe to accelerate the circular future we all want to see.”

One of the keynotes speakers confirmed is RWW past In Conversation interviewee Dr Leyla Acaroglu, who is a leading sustainability expert and winner of the United Nations Champion of the Earth 2016.

She is known as an international leader in disruptive design and will be exploring the key aspects of design and of how we can create a more sustainable and regenerative world through design.

Dr Acaroglu said: “For the last decade I have focussed my career on figuring out how to use design as a catalyst for positive social and environmental change.

“I am delighted to be taking the stage at the Circular Economy Hotspot Scotland in Glasgow to share my three-stage disruptive design method”.
