Members of the Wood Recyclers Association (WRA) are expected to hear about the latest developments in the organisation’s work on a waste wood Fire Prevention Plan (FPP) template at its summer meeting on 22 June.

The meeting, which is taking place in Bournemouth, will also include an update on the WRA’s work with the Environment Agency looking at the classification of waste wood, as well as the official launch of its new website.

Julia Turner, executive director of the WRA, said the meeting promised another full agenda bringing members up to date on many topics of interest to the industry.

“We are working on a number of major projects with long-terms implications for the waste wood sector at the moment and our quarterly meetings provide us with an ideal platform to communicate developments to our members,” said Turner.

“We’re looking forward to the June meeting especially as it also includes a site tour of WRA member Eco Sustainable Solutions who have recently commissioned a new CHP plant on their site.”

In addition there will also be a presentation about the German waste wood market given by BAV, the German equivalent of the WRA, and an overview of the UK’s waste wood to energy market, as well as a presentation about the recycling of MDF.

The meeting is free to attend for WRA members. Anyone who is not member who is interested in attending should contact Julia by email on julia.turner@woodrecyclers.org or phone 0330 325 0490.
