DS Smith Paper has donated a quarter-tonne of food to the Sittingbourne foodbank over the festive period.

Following an appeal from the foodbank, colleagues at DS Smith Kemsley Mill, the logisitics depots and DS Smith Packaging’s Ely plant collected up to 250kg of food.

Parcels were then shipped overnight by the logistics fleet.

Unite Union also donated £300 to fund Sittingbourne foodbank’s running costs.

A spokesperson for the foodbank said: “When businesses and the charity sector work together, they can make a huge difference to communities and people from all walks of life – not just at Christmas, but throughout the year too.”
