Forge Recycling is working with LeedsBID (Business Improvement District) to deliver a new collection service to the city centre’s businesses.

Starting this month, the service will offer a seven day a week collection timed to prevent trade sacks and loose waste from being left out overnight.

The contract is available to businesses who pay a BID levy and has been designed so that the more businesses who opt into the service, the more money they will all save.

Businesses who sign up will receive a free waste audit and free collection of waste cardboard each week.

Andrew Cooper, LeedsBID chief executive, said: “The contract demonstrates how businesses can work together to achieve economies of scale. The ambition is to save money, improve recycling and enhance street aesthetics by having a regular and quality waste service.”

LeedsBID selected Forge Recycling through a competitive bidding process designed by Eunomia which looked at price and quality of service.
