A new plastic-free grocery shop has opened its doors today in Edinburgh.

The Refillery encourages customers to bring in their own tubs or containers and pay by weight for household goods.

It has been launched by Kelly Wright following a long career in the food industry.

Everyday staples such as pasta, rice and sourced seasonal organic fresh product will be available, plus ethical detergents, beeswax wraps and cruelty-free shampoos.

Wright said: “Our relationship with single-use plastic simply must change. By offering a streamlined, ethical shopping experience, we do the hard work for you when it comes to looking after our planet.”

The Refillery is also available online for those looking to use less plastic.
