Nationwide fleet provider Go Plant Fleet Services has opened a refurbishment centre for specialist commercial vehicles in Matlock, Derbyshire.

The new depot will modify, refurbish and repair refuse trucks, recycling vehicles and cage tipper for third party customers.

It is the first for the company, which will also use the premises as an operations and maintenance hub for its spot division.

Phil Quelch, fleet engineering at Go Plant Fleet Services, said: “Assets such as refuse collection and recycling vehicles are a huge investment and operators are naturally keen to get as much out of them as they can.

“Professional refurbishment can significantly extend the life of a vehicle, but there are very few businesses providing that kind of service for the specialist sector.”

The Matlock depot and its 26 vehicles were acquired in August from family-run Harprule Hire which closed down its business earlier this year.
