Volunteers restoring the South Coast’s longest rockery have thanked Dorset-based Eco Sustainable Solutions for its support in donating a tonne of its Super Soil product.

The Friends of Coy Pond in Poole are reported to be well on the way to bringing the 550ft rockery back to its former state and hope to complete the job later this year.

Other firms have also chipped in by donating plants, paint and fertiliser.

Chairman of the project, Mike Smith said: "We are working with limited funds so any donations we receive are very gratefully received. The rockery had become obscured over the years with bushes and other vegetation but, after our work, it is now returning to its former glory.

“The reaction from local residents has been very positive and we’ve received many nice comments,” he added.

The Friends of Coy Pond was founded in 1998 and works closely with the Borough of Poole on enhancing the area.

Charlotte Haswell, Eco's business account handler, added: “The volunteers are doing a wonderful job restoring the rockery.”
