SAICA Natur welcomed Angela Rayner, MP for Ashton-under-Lyne, recently to its Audenshaw plant where she was given a tour of the site and met with Johan Sundblad, country manager of SAICA Natur UK.

Rayner was able to experience SAICA’s recycling system first-hand and to see the facility transforming customers’ waste into re-usable raw materials such as paper, plastics and metal.

Natur is the recycling arm of the overall SAICA Group which also incorporates SAICA Paper and SAICA Pack. SAICA uses a closed loop integration system where all recyclable waste collected and treated at Natur is then reused by Paper and Pack to create packaging solutions for well-known household names.

"This closed loop integration system is in action right here in the North West, with a Natur facility at Audenshaw, a paper plant in Carrington, and a pack centre in Wigan, among other locations throughout the UK and Europe," said Johan Sundblad, country manager, SAICA Natur UK.

Angela Rayner, MP for Ashton-under-Lyne, stated: "It's great to see a local firm doing so well in one of the industries of the future - recycling waste into new materials and doing their bit to help our environment."

Sundblad added: “Our Audenshaw site is a key cog in SAICA’s Closed Loop system and a vital part of our continued investment in the UK where we are committed to improving the eco-efficiency of our customers and in turn the local area.”
